Ream — Privacy Policy

Ream is published by Anvix Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with your information. It is short because the app does very little with it.

Ream collects nothing. Ream sends nothing. Ream cannot.

The app does not request the Android INTERNETpermission. Without it, Android will not allow the app to open a network connection of any kind. This is not a promise about our intentions — it is a technical restriction enforced by your device's operating system, and you can verify it yourself in your phone's app settings, where Ream's permission list contains no network access.

What we collect

Nothing.

No account, sign-in or registration
No analytics, telemetry or crash reporting
No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
No device identifiers
No location data
No contact list, calendar or camera access
No usage statistics of any kind

We have no servers that receive data from the app, because the app cannot reach any.

Your documents

The PDFs and images you open in Ream are read on your device and never leave it, unless you personally choose to share or save them somewhere.

Ream requests no storage permission. You choose files through Android's own file picker, which grants the app access to that one document, for that one job. Ream cannot browse your storage or open files you have not picked.
Your original file is never modified. Every tool writes a new file.
Finished files are kept in the app's private storage until you save, share or delete them. They are not visible to other apps and are not backed up to any cloud service — the app disables Android's automatic backup for this reason.
Passwords you type to open a protected PDF are held in memory only for the length of that operation and are never written to storage.
Signatures you draw and choose to save are stored in the app's private storage on your device. You can delete them at any time from Settings.

Uninstalling Ream, or clearing its data, deletes everything it holds permanently. Nothing is recoverable from us, because we never had it.

Contacting support

If you email support@anvixlabs.com, we receive whatever you write to us and your email address, because that is how email works. We use it only to answer you.

Ream can pre-fill a support message for you. When it does, the message contains only the app version, your Android version and your device model — and, if you use the "Report this file" action after an error, the type of error and a few structural facts about the file such as its PDF version, page count and file size. It never contains your file, its contents, or its name. The message opens in your own email app, you can read and edit every word of it, and nothing is sent unless you send it.

Links out of the app

Settings has a link to anvixlabs.com. Choosing it hands the address to your browser, which loads the page under its own permissions — nothing is loaded inside Ream, and nothing identifying you is attached to the request.

Permissions Ream requests, and why

Permission	Why
Notifications	To show progress while a long job runs, and to give you a working Cancel button. Ream sends no other notifications.
Foreground service (data sync)	So Android does not stop a long PDF operation part-way through.
Network state, wake lock, run at startup	Required internally by Android's WorkManager library, which schedules the work. None of them grants access to the internet or to your files.

There is no READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, no READ_MEDIA_*, and no INTERNET.

Children

Ream is a general-purpose utility. It collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
